What is Research Report Writing?
Saying it in paper
Happy day, amazing people!!!
Research findings must be documented in paper or in any digital form for the stakeholders (like individuals, business organizations, government authorities, etc.) to understand and benefit from it.
Research report format various from research to research.
But what we are going to show below is the pictorial representation of the most classic and widely accepted one.
This format can be divided into three major parts; preliminary pages, main matter and end essentials.
Preliminary Pages
Preliminary section consists of title, acknowledgement, table of contents and list of tables.
In your research report if you are using figures and/or illustrations you can have a similar page as list of tables as shown in the picture by mentioning their number, description and in which pages there are located. This practice is followed for easy accessibility of the research report.
Main Matter
Main section consists of introduction about the research, review of literature (i.e., a summary on similar researches being carried out previously), need for the study, objective of the study, hypothesis, research methodology, data analysis and interpretation, findings and recommendation and finally conclusion.
Footnotes can be used for additional information and citation purposes at the bottom of the page.
End Essentials
End section consists of annexure (i.e., documents attached to validate the information given), bibliography (i.e., list of books and other source materials referred) and index (i.e., an alphabetical list of either subject wise and/or author wise details with page numbers to locate)
